PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) were appointed administrators of the Washington, Tyne and Wear-based printer this morning following a 90-day consultation with employees, which began in May.
Paul Reed, business development manager at Reed Print and Design, said: "It is a very, very sad day for the company."
He added: "Out primary concerns now are our employees, suppliers and customers. They are all that matter at present."
The company, which was established in 1968, moved into the newly built site in December 2005 following a fire at its former premises in Washington.
