60-seconds with Cutture

Cutture founders Dominic and Helen Sharland met at university studying interior architecture. Both subsequently trained as architectural model makers. After setting up their own business they bought a Universal laser cutter, and began experimenting with graphic design. “The reaction was fantastic,” says Dominic. “Cutture was born and we’ve not looked back”

Our HQ is in London and we have a manufacturing site in Bedfordshire

How many staff do you have?

Eight plus a small army of freelance makers

What does your firm do?

We produce bespoke products, event stationery and accessories designed and produced by an in-house team

What’s your typical customer?

If a company needs high-quality laser cutting, they come to us. 

Which areas do you serve?

Predominantly the UK, but we have customers all over the world 

Who are your clients?

Printers, marketing/design houses as well as publishers and POS firms

A meticulous and skilled team, determination to offer the best customer service, and the willingness to try new ways of achieving excellence

What equipment do you run?

A Motioncutter, Trotek Speedy 300 and 400, and hot stamping/foiling. We also have our original Universal, affectionately known as Roy

Gaining investment was huge for us. It allowed us to develop Cutture as we wanted to

Where do you see your business in five years’ time?

We want to be the laser cutter of choice. And we’d love to have a large retail stationery offering

What’s your team’s favourite biscuit?

At Cutture it’s all about cake. Tracey, our office administrator, is an amazing baker. Her sticky ginger and pear cake is quite something…
