Taylor Bloxham secures Heidelberg ISO 12647-2 colour certification

Taylor Bloxham has secured its latest accolade of 2011 after being awarded Heidelberg ISO 12647-2 colour certification, which the company said reinforces its commitment to high quality colour standards.

The Leicester-based business, which operates Heidelberg presses across B1, B2 and B3 formats, underwent a week-long standardisation and certification process to achieve the standard.

This process included assessments by Heidelberg's colour management division and techincal checks of its presses and operating systems.

Through this, Taylor Bloxham had to demonstrated that its proof and press sheet matched the requirements specified in the ISO 12647-2 standard.

To achieve this, the press manufacturer performed a Print Colour Management (PCM) service that comprised advice on standardisation, press optimisation and process calibration. To conclude, Heidelberg carried out a second assessment at its ISO certification lab in Germany.

Chris Bolton, technical colour specialist at Taylor Bloxham, said the company has always been very serious in attaining high quality colour for its customers, which has now been recognised.

"It also is a great reassurance to customers old and new that we are focused on quality and shows that we are committed to standardisation," he added.

Taylor Bloxham runs four B1 Heidelberg presses including a 12-colour Speedmaster 102 as well as a HP Indigo 5000 digital press.

In October, the company achieved the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) human resources seal of excellence certification.
