This is the fourth Gallus flexo press in the label printing firm.
Besides the Gallus, the label printing firm has also invested in one Omega slitter and rewinder with Flytech 100% defect detection system.
Manish Desai, managing director at Mudrika Labels, said: "The press investment arrives on the back of a ‘dramatic increase in business’ while enabling us to increase both capacity and flexibility."
Desai added: "Quality is also a crucial factor and we consider Gallus to be leading the label-printing market in this."
Its newest press, Gallus EM 280 is capable of producing unsupported film and self adhesive labels. It combines eight printing unit and processes that include screen and hot and cold foil stamping.
According to Desai, the immediate next step for the 23-year old company is to build a printing plant on a 50,000 sq/ft land it has acquired. Mudrika’s future plans include investing in five more narrow web printing presses in the next four years.
"These ambitious business and investment strategies will keep Mudrika Labels at the forefront of the Indian label industry," said Desai.
The family-run business specialises in pressure sensitive labels on clear, metalised and laminated foils, screen printing, foil blocking and embossing processes.
Besides label printing business, the group also has offset printing, corrugated box manufacturing, label stock manufacturing division and plans to start gravure printing division.
