MGI wins prestigious Oscar de l'Emballage award

MGI Digital Graphic Technology has scooped the 53rd annual Oscar de l'Emballage/Packaging award for its JetVarnish digital inkjet spot UV coater.

The JetVarnish is the first digital spot UV coater accommodating up to 52x74cm ISO B2 sheets and using MGI's patented inkjet technology.

It can handle runs from one to more than 1,000, allowing graphic artists to offer a wide range of services to clients and customers.

V Natarajan of Aura Papers, Mumbai, which represents MGI in India, said: "JetVarnish was recognised by leading industry peers as a technological breakthrough with tremendous potential impact on the packaging sector and is the only offline digital inkjet spot UV coater in the market."

He added: "This reaffirms MGI's proven ability to deliver innovative digital printing and finishing solutions for a variety of specialisations year after year."

In the last two years, Aura Papers has installed more than 16 machines from the multi-substrate digital press and finishing solution manufacturer in India.

According to Aura, the JetVarnish will be available to the Indian market in the next two months.
