Masterwork plans Drupa launch for world's first inline die-cutting and foil stamping kit

Masterwork Graphics has claimed a world first with a machine that can die-cut, foil stamp and strip in one process, set to be premiered at Drupa.

The Chinese manufacturer's MK21060STE Hot Stamping Machine, which has two stamping and die-cutting stations in addition to a single stripping station, is being targeted at large publishing houses and greetings card printers.

The dual-platen machine can handle maximum with sheet sizes of 1,060x760mm at speeds of up to 5000iph.

The kit can be specified under various configurations, including stamping with stamping, embossing with stamping or embossing with die-cutting.

Masterwork claimed the MK21060STE provided a consistent accuracy of +/-0.075mm when foil stamping and die-cutting

Masterwork Graphics European sales manager Ken Farnsworth told printweek.com that "there is nothing like this on the market" while the machine will "streamline the stamping and die-cutting process for printers".

The MK21060STE is available now with prices starting at £500,000. The model will have its world premier at this year's Drupa exhibition, which takes place in Düsseldorf, Germany from 29 May to 11 June 2008.
