Ipex to inspire youngsters with Youth Day

Ipex is to use the final day of the show tomorrow to inspire youngsters aged 13-22 to engage with the industry, with a series of seminars, workshops and tours.

As well as figures from the industry, a series of seminar sessions will feature young entrepreneurs who are making their mark with print.

As well as the seminars, there will also be a ‘Print is big’ treasure hunt, with an Apple iPad and a year’s worth of mentoring with St Ives chief executive Patrick Martell among the prizes.

“The Youth Day is aimed at any young students who are thinking about a future career in print, communications or graphic design,” said Ruth Clougherty, Content Producer for the Ipex 2014 World Print Summit and the Youth Day.

“We’ve worked with a number of organisations – including the Prince’s Trust, the BPIF, City Gateway, Shine School Media Awards and Printing Charity to name but a few – to develop a day that is engaging, insightful and of course, fun. It’s a great place for younger people to see print in a light they may not have considered before.”

All sessions take place in the World Print Summit theatre in the South Hall tomorrow morning (Saturday, 29 March), with the afternoon dedicated to tours and workshops, where students can print t-shirts, bring print alive with their mobiles and make their own talking Mother's Day cards.
