Holmes, who spend the last 10 years at HP's Indigo division, plans to educate clients on the merits of Presstek's DI presses, which he feels offer "a new dimension to print production", and promote sales of its 75DI press model.
He brings with him 30 years of industry experience, most recently with HP and prior to that as managing director of HP Indigo supplier Digital People.
Holmes said: "This is a wonderful opportunity, and I am delighted to be joining Presstek at this exciting time. The Presstek 75DI is an exciting breakthrough product that brings a new dimension to print production.
"The 75DI is the ideal solution for short- to medium-run, fast turnaround printing at the highest level of quality. I am looking forward to sharing the Presstek story and the value of the Presstek 75DI with the UK printing community."
Presstek's 75DI is a B2 sheetfed digital offset press that is available in configurations ranging from four- to 10-colour models printing up to 16,000sph.
Peter Banks, UK sales director at Presstek, said Holmes' knowledge and experience will be "a great asset to Presstek and to the UK printing community".
