Good Food magazine offers cover choices for Christmas

The BBC Good Food magazine is publishing its December issue with a choice of covers for the first time to add newsstand "standout".

The Polestar-printed issue is the first to be published under Immediate Media, the business set up to act as contract publisher for BBC magazines such as Good Food, Top Gear and Lonely Planet, and as outright owner of a number of other titles, since the magazine unit was sold to private equity firm Exponent.

The 212-page magazine, with a circulation of nearly 300,000 will feature either a Christmas chocolate pudding or a roast turkey on the cover and includes a cardboard wallet containing the Good Food 2012 calendar as well as a pull-out recipe card.

Editor Gillian Carter said: "Each year for the Christmas edition we come up with something innovative and eye-catching. Presenting two different covers for the first time achieves this and is a brilliant way to ensure standout on the news stand for this, our most important issue of the year."

The Christmas edition is out now and costs £3.60.
