Four Pees aims PrintFactory workflow at signage markets

An enhanced pre-media workflow aimed at the wide-format and signage markets has been unveiled at Fespa Digital.

PrintFactory, which was previously sold by PerfectProof, has come under the control of Four Pees – which sold PerfectProof products in France and Italy – and has been augmented with new functions.

"The idea of PrintFactory is to create a tool to automate and streamline wide-format production and to disconnect file preparation from driving the machine," said Four Pees managing director Tom Piere.

"The large-format market is about five years behind commercial print from a pre-press point of view."

The move was supported by Aurelon, the Dutch firm behind the technology.

"Our focus is more and more shifting to the large-format production market," said managing director Gerard Lam.

The firm showcased new module Webfront for online job submission, which enables the customer to specify output size and quantity and to track a job's progress.

"It's a no-brainer for anyone with three or more machines to invest in workflow to get the best out of them rather than purchasing additional hardware," said Piere.

The PrintFactory booth also hosted Digital Media Partners (DMP) and its Flo Suite software, which encompasses web-to-print, digital asset management, content management and product information management, targeting wide-format for the first time.

In addition to PrintFactory, Four Pees has also taken over the responsibility for the ProofMaster software.

PerfectProof will focus on its consumables business and on developing the X-proof Cromalin package.
