Fespa 2010 launches competition to find world's best 'wrapper'

The world's most talented 'wrappers' will be able to show off their skills at Fespa 2010, thanks to the launch of the Fespa Wrap Cup - a competition to find the best vehicle wrapper.

The competition, which will span the five-day show, will see 64 vehicle wrappers compete to win thousands of euros' worth of prizes and the title of 'Fespa Wrap Star'.

On each of the first four days, 16 participants will compete over three rounds to become the day's single winner.

Each finalist will then compete in the two-part Grand Finale on the last day, when they will be challenged to wrap the side of a convertible Chevy Corvette and the front of a racing motorbike using a single wrap.

The awards will be judged by a panel of three, including Robert Ivers, the founder of the Professional Decal Application Alliance, and Hans van den Berg, the technical training manager of Avery Graphics, which is sponsoring Fespa Wrap Cup.

Separately, this year's event will bring together the wide-format sector's foremost material suppliers. Almost a third of exhibitors at the event will showcase substrates and/or inks, with a presence from major players including 3M and Avery Dennison.

Fespa has also published details of its European Sign Summit 2010, which is being co-hosted by the European Sign Federation at Fespa 2010.

Printers wanting to attend the show, which takes place 22-26 June at Messe Munich, should pre-register before 15 June.
