Domino unveils colour labeler

Domino director of digital printing solutions Philip Easton said Ipex marked a "big change" for the company as it made its debut into full-colour digital with the launch of its N-series.

The inkjet specialist has used Ipex to showcase its N600 digital label press. Capable of printing on a range of paper and plastic stocks, the 600dpi machine can print at up to 50mpm in colour mode and 75mpm in greyscale operation.

The N600 label press can also be set up to operate inline with digital finishing options, while standardfeatures include automatic head cleaning.

In addition to the N600, the N-Series will also incorporate scalable print width modules for OEM development.

"We have been monitoring technology and market trends in digital print since before Ipex 2006, when we test marketed an early 200dpi prototype machine," said Easton.

"Brands increasingly seek to address their customers more specifically with targeted labels and packaging, and initiatives such as special promotions," he added.

Domino has also launched its latest K-series unit, the K600 singlecolour piezo inkjet system, at Ipex. The 600dpi K600 is available in print widths from 108-780mm.

The K600 can print barcodes, 2D codes, numbers, graphics, logos and products for personalised data applications.
