Walkden, who was born in Edinburgh, set up CW Printing in 1974. The company, based in Borough Green, Kent, employed 60 people at its height and eventually became The Positive People Group before its closure in 1997.
Before then it was his swimming prowess that took Walkden to the Melbourne Olympics in 1956 and the Commonwealth Games in Cardiff in 1958, where he won two bronze medals. He also took part in the Rome Olympics.
He celebrated 50 years of marriage to wife Wendy in 2010 and had three children and seven grandchildren.
There will be a service of thanksgiving for his life at Siddington Parish Church on Wednesday 14 September at 3pm, followed by afternoon tea in the Village Hall.
