Antalis launches regional educational workshops

Printers looking to improve their knowledge of new digital applications, extend their services and bump up revenue are being offered workshop training.

The first of a new series of regional digital academy workshops from Antalis UK is due to take place on 29 April at the Flybe Training Academy at Exeter Airport.

It will focus on signmaking and targets experienced printers looking into the sign and display market for the first time, as well as for new employees.

Event host, signmaker, author and presenter Paul Hughes, is a regular speaker at the signmaker’s workshops at Sign & Digital UK.

He will use a range of Antalis materials to demonstrate basic application of vinyls. Attendees will learn about applying vinyl graphics and what vinyls and techniques to use when and where.

Antalis has been running workshops since last September and they usually take place at the company’s digital academy, based at its headquarters in Coalville, Leicestershire.

To make the workshops more accessible, Antalis is to run this new series of digital academy workshops across regions.

Antalis Digital support manager Giles Bristow said: “Previous workshops attracted people from within 100-150 miles of our Leicestershire base.

“As well as Exeter we plan to run workshops in Scotland, Yorkshire and the South East. We run five workshops that we want to take to a wider audience, starting with sign making.”

Others included colour management, framing and fine art, and an introduction to vehicle wrapping and vinyl applications, he said. The fifth is a new workshop: complete vehicle wrapping.

“The workshops have proved to be successful, which is why we are offering them regionally to make them more convenient," said Bristow.

“With the help of experienced professionals our educational workshops are designed to give delegates real hands-on experience, take-away examples and a thorough understanding of each area.

“They provide an ideal learning environment for printers looking to dip their toes into new markets or for new employees joining experienced companies. Regional dates will be finalised shortly."
