Agfa to debut new Anapurna wide-format presses at Drupa

Agfa has unveiled a trio of new additions to its Anapurna portfolio of wide-format inkjet presses, including the XLS, the Mv and an M4f model, all of which will debut at this year's Drupa.

The Anapurna XLS has been designed to output large and extra-large formats at sizes up to 250cm.

The XLS prints at a resolution of 1440dpi at speeds of 44sqm an hour in billboard mode, 28sqm an hour in poster mode, 23sqm in vector and at 13sqm an hour in poster mode.

It is built around Agfa's Universal Print Head (UPH) technology and can print on rigid and flexible roll-to-roll substrates.

Agfa will also launch two new wide-format presses based on its M series of inkjet printers for sign and display applications.

The M4f is an entry-level UV-ink press and offers a maximum media with of 160cm.

The flatbed machine can print at speeds up to 14sqm an hour and features roll-to-roll as an optional upgrade

The Mv is positioned as a way to add value to display signage with the addition of spot varnish and prints at up to 14sqm an hour.

All the presses can print on a range of substrates including corrugated boards, rigid plastics, exhibition panels, stage graphics and advertising panels.

Agfa Graphics Inkjet sales and marketing manager Willy Van Dromme said: "Combined, our industrial inkjet line addresses nearly every possible segment-specific need in the digital press marketplace.

"Visitors to Drupa will see for themselves how Agfa's research and development is taking digital printing to even greater heights," he added.

Agfa will exhibit at Drupa, which takes place from 29 May to 11 June in Düsseldorf, Germany.
