24-hour challenge for Print 4's Boam

Print 4 director Matt Boam is to undertake an emotional and arduous challenge next month in aid of the Anthony Nolan Trust.

Boam will take part in a 24-hour walk around the base of Snowdon and to the summit of the mountain in memory of his late partner, Rebecca Parsons.

She was killed in a hit and run accident when the pair were on holiday in Thailand at the end of 2012. Boam, who is a director and co-owner of Nottingham-based Print 4, was seriously injured.

He was told he would never be able to walk long distances or run again and is still suffering from the after-effects of the tragedy.

“Rebecca was very much into putting all her energy into helping others and helping the environment, and now I follow in her fantastic positive footprints,” Boam said.

“I have now trained as a mentor for the Carers Federation for 14-20 year-olds, and my next challenge is proving all those doctors wrong who said I would never be able to walk or run again by supporting Rebecca’s favourite charity, the Anthony Nolan Trust.”

The walk takes place on 26 September.

Boam has already raised more than £1,000 for the charity via his JustGiving page www.justgiving.com/Matt-Boam.

He also praised the “fantastic support” he had received from his Print 4 colleagues and fellow co-owner Peter Clark. “They have all pulled together with support, and we are one team driving the company forward for the good of all,” he added.
