Mimaki has launched a new wide-format inkjet printer range as well as new cutting plotters to kick off its Global Innovation Days event, which is taking place online this week.

The 330 Series includes the JV330-160, CJV330-160, and TS330-1600 models. Mimaki said it has been developed to offer mid- to high-end printing, focusing on high image quality and productivity, and durable prints for both the sign graphic and textiles industries.

With commercial availability due from April, the JV330-160 eco-solvent printer and CJV330-160 eco-solvent integrated printer/cutter are said to deliver the high standard of colour required for indoor and outdoor sign graphics through the new Deep Color Natural input profile. Mimaki said this offers vivid solid colours and natural skin tones as well as deep reds and neutral greys.

In-built cleaning mechanisms and monitoring features are said to ensure an efficient workflow and allow for longer running times.

Both models feature a newly designed unwinding system that allows three rolls of media to be loaded simultaneously, reducing the time and labour required to change media. One operator can bring the desired media into position by turning the media changer.

Another standard feature is an XY slitter, a highly precise cutting technology that provides in-line X-axis and Y-axis sheetfed cutting. This eliminates the unwinding and manual cutting from the workflow, helping users to speed up and streamline the post-process.

Hybrid Services, Mimaki’s distributor for the UK and Ireland, will present the CJV330-160 at Sign & Digital UK, at the NEC, Birmingham, from 22-24 March.

Meanwhile, the TS330-1600 is a sublimation transfer inkjet printer for the textiles industry. Enabling both high production and high image quality, and equipped with new functions to improve stable operation, the machine can print at up to 69sqm/hr in draft mode with a four-colour inkset, with the fastest mode reaching up to 135sqm/hr.

With commercial availability due around June, the TS330-1600 has optional add-ons including a 10kg ink tank supply unit, which reduces ink cost compared to the standard 2L ink pack and allows for longer continuous printing. A mini jumbo roll unit can also be added to load large rolls of transfer paper and further reduce running costs.

Mimaki’s RIP software dedicated to the textiles market is included with the printer, while all products in the 330 Series are fitted with Mimaki Weaving Dot Technology, which changes the order of ink droplet placement depending on the printing conditions.

Mimaki Remote Access is also available across the series, enabling users to remotely access the machine and check its status.

“Following the positive reception of the 100 Series among our customer base, we saw, from sign graphics to textile, that there is a significant market demand for more cost-effective, mid- to high-end technologies,” said Mimaki general manager sales EMEA Arjen Evertse.

“This is the drive behind our newest cross-platform technology, the 330 Series. Adhering to our strategy of enhancing production efficiencies and streamlining workflows, the new capabilities of this series cater to customers across various sectors, who are looking to improve on quality and delivery time.

“We look forward to demonstrating these products to customers and prospects alike at Fespa 2022 in Berlin.”

Mimaki said pricing for the 330 Series printers is dependent on configuration but will be around €25,000 (£20,830), with final pricing for each area available through authorised distributors shortly.

Also unveiled at the event today (1 March), the CG-AR Series cutting plotters are available in three different sizes – CG-60AR, CG-100AR, and CG-130AR. Mimaki said pricing for the latter model would start at around €3,000.

The plotters provide increased speed and accuracy, and can handle a diverse range of materials, such as PVC, fluorescent and reflective sheets.

The CG-AR Series is also equipped with Mimaki Remote Access and features the manufacturer’s ID Cut function, which allows integrated print-and-cut operations when used in combination with a Mimaki printer, by automatically retrieving cutting data via a barcode.

This product range will also be commercially available from April and models from the range will be shown by Hybrid Services at Sign & Digital UK.
