The UK company is showing its Coexcell foam PVC sheet and is in talks with distributors to release it to market in a few months’ time.
The product will first be available in white in six sheet sizes of 1.22x2.44m and 1.2x3.05m in thicknesses of 3mm to 8mm and from 1.18x2.44m to 1.5x3.05m in thicknesses of 10mm to 19mm. It features a smooth matt surface, closed cell structure, UV and weather stability, high insulating value and is moisture resistant, sound and vibration absorbent and with Class 1Y fire performance, according to the firm.
It can be used for signage, POS, retail, exhibitions and for furnishing.
Sales director Duncan Smith said: “It’s a product that can easily be printed on, we think it could take a little bit from the aluminium composite market for signage and in some countries the compact high-pressure laminate market. It’s a tough robust type of product with a tough surface but we’ve taken the cost out of the centre to make it affordable.”
Meanwhile, Brett Martin is for the first time showing thinner versions – 0.5mm, 0.75mm, 1mm and 1.5mm – of its Marpet-g FS flat PETg sheet for thermoforming, which it brought to market within the past few weeks.
Its products are sold through 20 European distributors.
“PETg is the best substrate we do for printing, acrylic doesn’t print very well, and it’s also the easiest to make transparent as well as the easiest to mould,” Smith said.
“One thing that sets us apart is we have digital printing machines in our factory to test our products.”
