Arjowiggins Graphic announces price rise

Arjowiggins Graphic has announced an 8% price rise for its coated woodfree (CWF) sheets and reels in the European market from September.

The price increase will be applied to all deliveries from early September, with the specific start date depending on the country (1 September in the UK). Brands affected include Maine Gloss, Chromomat and Satimat.

Arjowiggins is the second mill to announced a CWF price rise, following Sappi's announcement earlier this month that it would raise prices for its CWF sheets and reels by 6%-8% (6% in the UK).

The price increase is Arjowiggins first for its CWF papers since 10 October 2011, when it put through an increase of £30 per tonne; the mill said that an increase of approximately 6% announced last year subsequently collapsed.

The paper mill said its sales team would contact customers to discuss further details and prepare implementation.
