J-Teck3 to launch J-Lux dye-sub ink at Fespa 2015

Italian digital ink manufacturer J-Teck3 will launch its new J-Lux dye-sublimation inks at next month’s Fespa 2015 event.

J-Lux is a water-based digital ink for polyester fabrics and substrates. According to the manufacturer, the ink features superior light fastness for applications including fashion and home decoration fabrics, sportswear, flags and banners that require high resistance to light as well as strong image definition.

The J-Lux series will be launched in the CMYK colours and will be manufactured in two versions. The J-Next Subly version is for Epson printheads DX5, DX6 and DX7 while the J-Cube KF version is for Kyocera print heads.

Business operations manager Rosaria Pozzoni said: “We have received a lot of requests from our customers to produce an ink which has more solid colours to the light because there are some applications in sublimation printing which require high resistance to the light.

“We tested it in our laboratories and have already sent the ink to customers to test. The results were very good so we now think that the ink is ready for the market. Shows such as Fespa are always a good opportunity to launch new products and we hope it will have a good return and feedback for us.”

Pozzoni did not disclose pricing details for the ink.

The business will also showcase its new patented system for digital direct double-sided fabric printing at Fespa, the Equalizing Printing System (EPS). It can be used on printers that are equipped with Kyocera print heads.

EPS uses two complementary elements to enable consistent colour penetration and make double-sided printing possible.

EPS Clear is a non-pigmented ink which can “drive” the other colours through the fabric in order to achieve a uniform volume, regardless of differences in colour shade and intensity, while a software package, EPS Software, estimates the correct quantity of EPS Clear that is necessary to equalise the ink penetration.

J-Teck3 employs 50 staff and has a turnover of around €20m (£14.3m). It is exhibiting in Hall 7, Stand K40 at Fespa 2015, which will take place in Cologne, Germany from 18-22 May.
