Baysek Machines has launched a new die-cutter aimed at the short-to-medium-run market.

Commercially available immediately and additional to the US manufacturer’s existing portfolio, the fully automatic EL-150 boasts “a simple yet intelligent design” and touchscreen control. It requires only one operator and job changeovers are said to take as little as 10 minutes.

Standard specifications include various modes of operation: single cycle, continuous cycle and variable speed control with no makeready required.

The machine can cut a wide variety of substrates ranging from micro-flute to double-wall corrugated, solid and coated board, foil/foam/print laminated sheets, as well as large-format displays.

The EL-150 features the same die-cutting principles as Baysek’s flagship C170 model, providing nick-free and angel hair-free die-cutting with fully automatic waste removal.

Finished parts exit the machine accurately counted and stacked, which Baysek said offers significant time savings as no further finishing process is required.

Baysek UK and Europe sales executive Robert Jess told Printweek: “Corrugated is traditionally more large-volume type die-cut but this machine is geared more towards the short-to-medium market. We feel that this machine would be the ideal step up for people with box-making type machines or clamshell type hand-fed platens that want to increase their production and turnover.”

The standard EL-150 has a maximum sheet size of 1,220x1,320mm and can be custom built for customers die-cutting larger sheets.
