Duplo Drupa launches to include on-demand die-cutter

Finishing equipment supplier Duplo International (6-B61) has launched almost a dozen new products at Drupa, all of which the Surrey-headquartered firm said have been designed to work faster, smarter and better for its customers.

The business is showing the PFi Di-Cut 300 for the first time at the show. The on-demand die-cutter, which can produce a variety of digital print and packaging products, performs multiple cuts, slits, slit scores, kiss cuts, perforations and window punches for single or multiple-up pieces, on a wide range of paper stocks at 3,000 sheets per hour.

Duplo said a major benefit of the device, which has a list price of around £80,000, is an industry-first X&Y automated registration system. Registration mark smart technology enables the machine to counter image drift.

Duplo International head of commercial Alex North said: “Duplo USA has had the PFi Di-Cut 300 for a couple of years and it's drawn a lot of attention. We've made some improvements on it, which are unique to the market, and that's why we think it's the right time to do it now.

“We're always looking to move things forward with our DC slitter-cutter-creaser range, and will continue to heavily invest in that, but the die-cutter gives us another dynamic and opens new doors."

Other new Duplo products at the show include the iSaddle Pro Duetto Digital System saddle-stitcher, the DC-646i slitter-cutter-creaser, the DC-646 JDF and DC-646i IFS multi-finishers, the DC-350Cr Booklet System and the DM Mini Collation System. All new products will be commercially available with immediate effect from Drupa.
