Visual Print brings digital inhouse with RGF funding

Visual Print & Design has brought digital print in-house as part of plans to double in size over the next year.

The Lincoln-based design and print management firm has invested £31,000 in a refurbished Xerox 770 digital colour printer and ancillary finishing equipment in order to meet increasing requirements from clients for same day print services.

“Our aim is to have £100,000 worth of digital print sales,” said managing director Graham Hunstone.

Sales are headed up by senior account manager John Osborn, who joined the firm from Garnett Dickinson.

The firm recently recruited a designer and an estimator, both graduates of the University of Lincoln, taking headcount to seven. Later in the year the firm plans to add a further three staff covering production, sales and accounts, doubling headcount from the start of the year.

It works closely with the University offering a number of students internships.

Hunstone said that the firm, which had sales of £540,000 in 2013 was targeting £720,000 in the next financial year.

In addition to the digital press the firm has also invested in a Tharstern MIS.

The firm’s investment, which will come to a total of £80,000 this year, was supported by £30,800 of funding from the local Lincoln Growth Fund.
