Artisan Press entered into a consultation with Unite and workers at its factory over proposed job cuts that were calculated to affect almost a third of its workforce... IPC Media confirmed that from July, its entire multimillion-pound print contract would be fulfilled by Polestar... Barnet-based MPC Solutions signed for a Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 75 in a £1.4m spend that saw the new press replace two older Heidelbergs... Ipex event director Trevor Crawford left show arganiser Informa Exhibitions less than a week after the show closed. "I am looking forward to the fresh challenge that will come from delivering events in different sectors," Crawford said at the time... Tradeprint.co.uk ordered a KBA Rapida 106 as part of a £4m spend that also included a range of post-press and "added-value finishing" equipment, some of which was sourced at Ipex 2014... Vistaprint acquired a 97% stake in Italian web-to-print business Pixartprinting for a base price of €127m (£105m) while the company's founder Matteo Rigamonti retained a 3% stake... The government was set to introduce regulations that would pave the way for a ban on branded tobacco packaging in the UK following the publication of the Chantler Review into the potential health impacts of standardising tobacco packaging... Wyndeham Group created a digital wing, Wyndeham Digital, to offer its customers data management and digital printing services. The firm took on six former employees of Wokingham-based Volume Group, five of whom are data specialists... Marden-based commercial print and direct mail business Print Logic has fallen into administration after racking up debts totaling £1.2m. “Print Logic experienced cashflow difficulties due to its liabilities and severe creditor pressure has led to the company being placed into administration,” said joint administrator Simon Plant of SFP Group... Ipex organiser Informa cancelled the Cross Media event that was planned to take place in October 2014 due to lack of exhibitor support. The company subsequently confirmed that the show would be incorporated into its quadrennial Ipex event... Oldham-based Finishline Print Finishers invested £1.2m to expand its operations, signing for two MBO B30/444s, a Muller Martini Pantera PUR perfect binder and an additional 1,400sqm factory unit... HPM Group and Addo Printing merged, creating a print & design company that was expecting to hit sales of £5m this year. However, the new business, called HPM Addo, was not to survive the year... Paperlinx launched a 30-day consultation with 121 staff across its UK business as it sought to make around 75 staff redundant... Sequana, owner of the Antalis paper merchanting group and Arjowiggins paper mills, announced details of a refinance of both companies' debt alongside an operational restructure at Arjowiggins... Polestar was making headway on the extension to its Sheffield site, which now houses the first of its new web offset presses. The first steels were erected on 15 April... Vistaprint revealed plans to open its first permanent UK office in the summer of 2014 after reaching agreement on a premises in Kings Cross, London... Ormside Press was sold by its joint administrators Cameron Gunn, Simon Harris and Mark Supperstone of Resolve Partners, to Sheffield-based Intoprint. According to the administrators' report, Ormside Press fell into arrears with HMRC and a number of trade suppliers in the final quarter of 2013, leading to an unsuccessful attempt by HMRC in February 2014 to seize the company's assets... A fire destroyed Tradpak’s facility in Armley near Leeds city centre. The blaze took hold in the early hours of Easter Monday, and at its peak was being battled by 15 fire engines, two hydraulic platforms and more than 100 firefighters... Communisis was back on the M&A trail bolstering its creative services offering with the acquisition of video and film production specialist Jacaranda and digital agency Public Creative. The total spend was around £1.8m... Service Point UK was placed into administration with Ernst & Young ahead of an anticipated pre-pack sale of the business... Commercial printer In2Print sold a majority stake in its business to £40m-turnover facilities, IT and print management specialist Commercial Group, with the latter hinting thatit was considering further print acquisitions... S Barber & Co marked its 100th anniversary with the installation of a five-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster SX 74, which it said would increase productivity. The press replaced an older SM 74... UK-based substrate manufacturer Innovia Group, which produces polymer banknotes material and packaging films, has been acquired by private equity group Arle Capital in a €498m deal...
