YPO is seeking early supplier engagement for catalogue tender

Three large print and postage contracts worth in excess of £7m are currently up for grabs via the government’s Find a Tender service.

Because of Brexit, the service replaced the EU Tenders Electronic Daily system in England at the turn of the year.

English Heritage is seeking to establish a print framework for its Members’ Handbook, with contract values of £500,000-£2m and the potential for multiple SME suppliers to be involved. The contract starts in July and is for handbook production from next year until 2026.

YPO, the publicly-owned purchasing consortium owned by 13 local authorities, has published a £2.5m prior information notice regarding catalogue print and finishing services.

YPO intends to establish a multi-lot framework, working with several suppliers, and is seeking early supplier engagement.

It covers two lots: printing and finishing of its main catalogue; and seasonal catalogue production.

The indicative period for the new arrangement is June 2021 to June 2025, with the potential for the contract to be renewed.

A formal contract notice will follow next month.

The Tate Gallery has launched a tender for postage services for its bi-monthly guide and Tate Etc magazine, which are sent out to more than 135,000 members.

“Printed content such as the Tate Guide and magazine are essential to Tate members and provide high customer contact levels,” the organisation stated, and said that landing deadlines were a priority.

Tate Guides are mailed out six times per year and the Tate Etc. magazine is included with three of these mailings. Smaller supplementary mailings follow on from the main mailings.

The two-year contract, with an option to extend for up to three years, has an estimated value of £2.75m.
