Digital specialist Print On has invested more than £200,000 on a raft of new kit to enable it to manage increasing demand from new and existing clients.

In the last five months the Cheadle, Cheshire-based company has taken on three Mimaki JFX200 flatbed LED UV printers – joining one already in place at its 650sqm site – and a Mimaki JV300 roll-to-roll printer, which joins two existing JV300s on site. The additional machines are all refurbished secondhand models supplied by Atlantic Tech Services.

The business has also installed a Caldera colour management system and a new Mimaki UCJV300 printer-cutter from CMYUK, which has also supplied the company’s most recent investment, a new Kongsberg cutter which went in this month.

Managing director Alex Oldfield told Printweek: “We have an outstanding client base and we have managed to grow this further during 2020, so the new machinery is both helping us keep with demand and enables us to grow further with new clients.

“We like having capacity spread over devices rather than one large device.”

The company also considered EFI Vutek and Dyss machines before settling on the chosen kit. It already operates a Dyss X7 digital cutter, which was installed in 2017, a wide array of other finishing kit for small-format work, including laminators, guillotines and binders, and four Xerox Versant digital toner printers.

With 14 staff and a turnover of £1.5m, Print On serves print management companies and clients in retail, hospitality, events, health, construction, education and various other sectors.
