MTEX launches Vision and Blue direct-to-textile printers

MTEX Solutions has launched two new digital direct-to-textile printers, the entry-level 1.6m-wide MTEX Blue and the 1.85m-wide MTEX Vision, which is aimed at the transfer print market.

The MTEX Blue is a four colour roll-to-roll printer aimed at companies wishing to enter the digital textile market. It is equipped with Epson DX 7 printheads and features a 1,440dpi print resolution, two litre bulk ink system and built-in heat fixation.

It is due to begin shipping in January 2015 and is expected to have a UK list price of under £40,000.

The MTEX Vision, which is available now from around £135,000, offers direct printing onto stretch fabrics and can be specified in either four or eight-colour configurations. It uses Ricoh Gen 5 printheads and has a maximum print resolution of 1,200dpi.

Features include an adhesive belt carrier system for stretch fabrics and built-in heated drum calendars for fixation of ink. The MTEX Vision is available with pigment ink for poly cotton and natural fibre fabrics, and direct disperse inks for polyester.

MTEX chief executive Eloi Ferreira said: "The direct-to-textile print market is showing exciting levels of growth, and it's becoming more accessible, delivering really innovative new applications in an easy all-in-one process.

"The last couple of years have been very exciting for us with the launch of the MTEX 5032 and 5032 Pro and the MTEX Steamer, MTEX Pad Coater and MTEX W&D wash and dry machine. We hope that the introduction of the new Vision and Blue will give us a great start to 2015."

Both machines will be shown at Fespa 2015, while the MTEX Blue is shortly due to be installed in the company's UK showroom, with the MTEX Vision likely to follow in the near future.

MTEX unveiled the new machines at Viscom in Frankfurt last week.
