Kumar Printers opts for Fujifilm CTP

Manesar (Gurgaon)-based Kumar Printers has selected Fujifilm Thermal CTP Luxel 9300 NS along with FLH-85 RZ plate processor including ZAC technology.

Sandeep Bhargava, executive director at Kumar Printers, said: "We have an in-house CTF to process the plates and the system is still in use. We opted for the Fuji CTP to save our makeready time and environment; owing to its eco-friendly feature of using around 85% lesser chemicals in the plate process."

The FLH-Z ‘ZAC’ processors, part of Fujifilm’s low-chemistry family of solutions, offers the printers an unrivalled savings by giving them the ability to develop around 8,000sqm of plates with just one replenisher bath as compared to the traditional way of processing.

The packaging printing company justifies its use of thermal plates with the claim thermal plates have better consistency and long-run time. The company has a consumption of around 80- 100 plates per day to feed their multicolour Manroland and Heidelberg offset printing presses of various sizes. The company converts more than 500 metric tonnes of paper monthly.

Multinational companies around the globe have their own parameters for the safety of environment and within five years, India would have to implement and follow some parameters. Less use of chemicals enhances the working environment automatically. Bhargava said: "We use around 85% less chemicals in the process as compared to CTF and others."

The company believes in the right way of communication and awareness for everyone who is involved with the industry, a reason why the company educates and trains its employees on a regular basis.

"Environmental issues are serious, and manufacturers of machines and chemicals; and dealers of various substrates can play a big role in safeguarding the environment. So should individuals," concluded Bhargava.
