InkTec launches repositionable adhesive wall covering

InkTec has launched Tex-Ra, its new removable and repositionable self-adhesive wallcovering.

The polyester fabric substrate was made available via InkTec’s UK distributor network this week. Sourced from one of the South Korean company’s local associate companies, the material has a list price of £6.95/sqm.

Available in 1.3m and 1.5m widths, Tex-Ra is supplied in 30m rolls and can be printed on using all forms of inkjet digital process, as well as screen printing. Its specialised adhesive is designed for easy application and removal, not damaging surfaces or leaving residues.

Head of IP consumable sales Peter Davidson said: “When I joined InkTec, I thought we could do with a product like this in our portfolio and it took two years for us to track down something that was just right. The key was the adhesive, which needed specific capabilities.

“It is a fairly big market we are facing, with a focus on commercial interiors and events, where wallcoverings are needed and may often need changing. For example, a sports event may have a different sponsor each year and the covering would need to be changed in a limited time.

“We have had some trials and we took Tex-Ra to Sign & Digital this year, where the response was fantastic in terms of pricing and performance. It is a brand-new product for the UK and Europe with very little to rival it.”

Tex-Ra is a 250gsm, matt, non-reflective material for sticking on non-porous, smooth surfaces both curved and flat. Its adhesive is designed not to cure so it is as easy to remove as it is to initially apply.

It is dimensionally stable for stretch-, shrink- and tear-resistance with no wrinkles and will work with latex, eco-solvent and UV inkjet processes.
