Goss to cut 300 jobs at France site

Goss has said it is to reduce its workforce at its France facility by 300.

A spokeman for the company said: "We will maintain a significant workforce in Montataire, and in Europe in general, and we will continue to manufacture and support all of the Goss products that are presently manufactured there."

The plant is one of a number of the company's European bases that handle development, manufacturing and support for key Goss products such as the 96-page Sunday 5000 web press, the Sunday 4000, the M-600 Folia and FPS, Universal and Uniliner ranges.

The site will be integrated with Goss' other French facility in Nantes and is in line with restructuring of other Goss facilities worldwide.

Goss International president and chief executive Jochen Meissner said: "We regret the impact on our employees, but this is an essential, proactive step in our plan to rationalise and integrate Goss resources in Europe to deliver the highest level of value to our customers."
