South Staffordshire MP and former education secretary Gavin Williamson visited The Print Box near Wolverhampton to discuss how the business had recovered from the pandemic.

The visit to the large-format vehicle graphics and workwear specialist came after The Print Box used local and national funding to successfully recover from the pandemic.

Sean Pearce, managing director, said he was pleased to welcome the MP.

“It was great for our local MP to take time out of his busy schedule to visit a small business, giving us the opportunity to showcase what we can do.

“We have been through tough times during the pandemic, like everyone else, but support from the government and help from both Staffordshire County Council and South Staffordshire Council helped us both get through the pandemic and expand the business.”

The Print Box has invested heavily since the pandemic in new kit thanks to these loans, including an Epson SureColor SC-S40600 wide-format digital printer.

Williamson said: “It was fantastic to visit the Print Box and to hear about how their business has managed to recover stronger than ever from the pandemic.

“It is vital that both local and national government continue to support local businesses like this to help drive growth and entrepreneurship.”

At the BPIF's AGM last month, chief executive Charles Jarrold said MP visits are now “back on the cards” for its members, who it urged to get in touch with the organisation to help arrange them as “these are a valuable and excellent way both to raise the profile of our sector and to build our contacts as an industry for the future”.
