Fuji to offer Metrix 2010 job planning tool as XMF module

Fujifilm Europe has partnered with LithoTechnics to supply its Metrix 2010 automated job planning system as an extension to Fuji's XMF workflow.

Metrix 2010 automatically determines the most cost-effective printing method, press and sheet size for a job, and is capable of feeding JDF layouts seamlessly into XMF's print production workflow.

John Davies, workflow business strategy manager at Fujifilm, said that the combination of the two platforms would optimise pre-press productivity and efficiency, allowing users to become more competitive.

"Automating the job planning process optimises production and guarantees time savings," he said. "And, as Metrix is a modular product, it gives printers the choice of only investing in the production capabilities that will add value to their specific business."

Rohan Holt, president of LithoTechnics, added: "Fujifilm is a key player in the workflow market and we are very proud to be partnering with them.

"As Metrix fits in so seamlessly with XMF, we are confident that this partnership will continue to grow as we develop these products even further in the future."
