Purchased direct from Morgana Systems, the new unit was installed in October, ahead of the Southampton-based company’s busy pre-Christmas period, and joined existing DigiFold Pro and AutoCreaser machines from Morgana.
ColourCo managing director Kevin West said: “We don’t have any spare room here so versatile finishing equipment is an essential. We’ve had a longstanding relationship with Morgana. Their equipment is ideal for our needs, and the latest DigiFold Pro XL is an excellent example of that.”
The DigiFold Pro XL is a heavy-duty automatic creasing and folding system that incorporates a suction feeder that handles stock sizes from 210mm to 1.3m in length.
The kit can fold up to 6,000 A4 sheets per hour, and in crease-only mode it can produce up to 7,500sph. The unit has a maximum pile capacity of 200mm and a stock range of 80 to 400gsm.
“We are now able to produce a six-page A5 brochure which has a perforated section on the last page, all in one pass – creasing, perfing, and folding. A real time saver,” said West.
ColourCo’s services also include digital and litho printing, design and artwork, large-format and plan printing, t-shirt printing, binding, scanning, mounting, and laminating.
