Fine Print started life in Oxford in 1991. The firm, run by managing director Dan Bakewell since an MBO in 2003, still holds to the guiding principles of the founder – hire the best people and give them the best kit to work with.

Where are you based?

Fine Print is based in 2008 we relocated to a modern 2,600m2 facility in Witney

How many staff do you have? 

A dedicated team of 62 work around-the-clock (in shifts!)

What does your firm do? 

Mainly marketing and promotional print, leaflets, mailers and brochures through to roller banners, stands and exhibition material

What’s your typical customer? 

Much of our work is for the healthcare sector where our clients want innovation, top quality and amazing service, while still buying competitively. We are fortunate to be preferred suppliers to some leading pharmaceutical brands and our account managers become an extension of their team

What’s your USP? 

An end-to-end operation, under one roof, around the clock. And understanding the needs of our customers, their business, and what print does for them

What equipment do you run? 

Two B2 Heidelberg Speedmasters, HP Indigo 7800, SwissQprint and Zünd wide-format equipment, plus a full bindery

Where do you see your business in five years’ time?

We are excited that we, and the print industry, are emerging stronger from the recent difficult period. The last couple of years have been extremely positive, allowing us to invest in new technology and take our offerings to another level

What’s your team’s favourite biscuit?

We’re more of a cake company. With our growing staff numbers there is the added bonus of more birthdays, so most weeks there are cakes somewhere in the building!
