Ace Binding Company was born out of the love director Robert Hart had for the industry. Founded 16 years ago, with a couple of folders, a guillotine and stitching line, it was a move into PUR binding and, more recently wire-binding (and a fair few other investments) that took the business into the Premier League of trade finishing.

Where are you based?
Ace Binding Company is based in Birmingham in the same factory that we started in, although we had to acquire the unit next door to accommodate the binder

How many staff do you have?
We have 26 experienced full timers

What does your firm do?
We are finishers to the print industry. We offer PUR/perfect binding, Wiro-Binding, spiral binding, stitching including inline endorse folding, folding including double gates, collating, drilling, shrinkwrapping, ram bundling and strapping

What is your typical customer?
Our customers are all printers, be it digital, B3, B2, B1 or web houses. We accommodate them all

Which geographic areas do you serve?
Nationally. We serve anywhere in the country. We are two hours away from anywhere

What’s been your proudest achievement in the past few years?
We suffered a large amount of uninsured bad debt last year and without the hard work of the amazing team we have we wouldn’t be here today

What is your team’s favourite biscuit?
Biscuits don’t cut it with our lot they are cake monsters
