Visitors up 10% at Packaging Innovations London

Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London reported a record turn-out with visitor numbers up 10% year-on-year to 3,930.

“We couldn’t be more delighted with how this year’s show turned out,” said Alison Church, event director for EasyFairs packaging events.

“The shows have established themselves attracting visitors, exhibitors and speakers from across the globe.”

Church added that the event, which was held at the Business Design Centre (BDC) in Islington on 30 September and 1 October, was a sell-out, boasting 180 exhibitors.

Among the 80 product launches at the show, highlights included Saco’s Jar Cap, Airpack Systems’ inflatable beer bottle packaging and Benson Group's 'meal solutions' carton packs.

Events at the show included the learnShops programme, The Beauty Symposium, the inaugural Luxury Packaging Conference, the Drinks Symposium, an Innovation Gallery and The Big Packaging Debate.

Between them they boasted speakers from the likes of DHL, Diageo, Harrods, Proctor & Gamble, Tesco and Unilever.

The show also played host to the 'Lion’s Lair' competition, which was won by Italian firm Pringraf’s Packly web-to-package platform.

“We are so happy to have won”, said chief executive and co-founder of Packly Giuseppe Prioriello. “It is validation that we are making life easier for the designers, packaging professionals and marketers that need a structural packaging design and have it printed in short runs.”

EasyFairs’ Packaging Innovations, Empack and Label&Print show will be at the NEC on 25-26 February 2015, while Packaging Innovations & Luxury Packaging London will run on 29-30 September 2015 and the BDC.
