Rosefox Paper secures deal to sell Vivid and Roland DG products

Independent paper merchant Rosefox Paper has been appointed as an agent for a selection of Roland DG wide-format equipment and Vivid Laminating Technologies’ entire product range.

The Preston, Lancashire-based business secured the deals towards the end of last year and last month finished building a demo suite to show the products, as part of a £30,000 investment in the site refurbishment and stock.

The Roland DG deal extends to machinery including the VersaCAMM VSi and SPi series printers. The firm already sells Canon aqueous wide-format printers and associated inks.

Rosefox Paper sales manager David Dawson said: “Our market is predominantly litho printing and what we’re finding is that new companies that open tend to be more digital. It’s vitally important that we are effectively active and established within that market.

“We’ve been selling entry-level Canon wide-format printers for about three years and that gave us a bit of a taster for the market. Customers thought they were fantastic but they also wanted something tailored more for print outdoors.

“It was progression that we went out to find something to accommodate those. We hope this has an instant impact on business and we also see a long-term goal with this.”

The company operates from 1,486sqm premises, which it owns, and also leases space at two local warehouses. It built the purpose-built demo within its main unit to display products from all three manufacturers.

Rosefox will hold an open day event at its premises from 10am to 4pm on 23 and 24 February to show the machines.

Experts from the firm as well as representatives from Roland DG, Canon and Vivid will be on hand to demonstrate equipment and advise customers while finance provider Genesis Capital will offer financing options.

“It’s an open day both for people who are already established and are looking to upgrade their kit and potentially customers who just want to know about the technology and the market or are looking to invest,” said Dawson.

Rosefox also sells a variety of paper ranges, Agfa products and consumables including plates, inks, pressroom chemicals and film.

The family-run business, which has 33 staff and a turnover of around £7.5m, is a member of the AIMS group, the independent consortium comprising of 10 independent paper businesses.
