Marstan Press continues expansion with dual Duplo investment

Marstan Press has taken the next step to reaching a 1m annual digital turnover after investing in two new Duplo finishing machines.

The Kent-based business has installed a Duplo DuBinder perfect binding machine and a Duplo Digital System 5000 Pro stitching machine to handle the company's growing digital print workload.

Marstan's latest investments come on-the-back of the installation of a Konica Minolta bizhub C8000 digital press last month and a dual spend on the Xerox 8080 digital platform in October.

The 57-year-old, family-owned company opted for the Duplo equipment, citing both the "robust build quality" and support offered by the post-press manufacturer.

Martin Lett Snr, managing director of Marstan Press, said: On the technical side I am delighted with the stitching line as it is so simple to set up and uses a litho-machine quality sheet feed.

"This ensures that the machine runs well even with digitally printed work, which is known for its static and slipperiness."

Operating alongside the company's Watkiss and Morgana finishing equipment, Marstan said its latest additions would help the Bexleyheath business hit £1m sales within its digital division this financial year.

Lett Jnr added: "With our ever increasing workload, and our client’s demands for 24hr and same-day turnarounds, we required more heavy duty machines that would give us greater capacity and faster running speeds so we can meet customer’s expectations."
