KopyKat targets faster turnarounds following Screen Truepress 344 buy

Shoreditch-based commercial printer KopyKat is targeting faster turnaround times to cater for its burgeoning walk-in trade after taking delivery of a Screen Truepress 344 digital offset press.

The 12-staff company has experienced a growing demand from London-based blue chip clients as well as custom from passers-by.

Phil Moretti-Greene, founder of KopyKat, said the demand from customers had grown and in turn, the company's need to evolve "never stops".

"This means that we need to be increasingly flexible and efficient to meet tight deadlines and that's why we bought the Truepress," he said.

"We chose this machine to deliver fast-turnaround offset quality on jobs from 500 to 5,000 copies. These days everyone wants everything fast and our aim is to meet their needs."

The company's new machine complements an existing kit battery that comprises a five-colour Komori Lithrone 28 press, Xerox Docucolor 700 and 5000 digital printers as well as two Epson Stylus Pro models, a 9800 and a 11880.

"I like the automation of the Screen press. I can get a job from the digital front end onto the press in 11 minutes, compared to 45 minutes on the offset press," added Moretti-Greene.
