As well as the new Ecobind coating it has developed (see Star Product on facing page), Bekaert will be launching a glow-in-the-dark wirebind. The coating for this product stems from a special polymer that absorbs energy from any source of light. Once the wire is put in the dark, the coating re-emits the energy in a soft green glow.
BFS Pressroom Solutions
The exclusive UK distributor of Rollin and Trelleborg blankets, BFS is also unveiling new products at Ipex. These include Print-X, a new Stabil-X eco print line for sheetfed application with a polymer compressible layer engineered to provide smash absorption and recovery properties.
New for Ipex is the Super Blue 3 anti-marking system, a chemical resistant poly fibre net. According to the manufacturer, the new addition requires no downtime and no need to change nets. The Super Blue 2 anti-marking system will also be on stand.
The theme for Böttcher is adding value and new products include Mistral, a new 62° wash-up solution that will be in the UK for the first time (see Star Product on facing page). Also being unveiled are two new cleaning solutions plus some new developments on rubber compounds for rollers. The company is also pushing its eco-pack concept designed to eliminate waste packaging.
ContiTech Elastomer Coatings
ContiTech will exhibit its Elastomer Coatings division, which targets the printing blanket market. On show will be the new metal blanket, the ContiAir Steel CE 51. According to the manufacturer, the product provides accurate colour rendition and high printing quality. Also on show will be ContiTech’s Phoenix Xtra blankets.
Cyanx is the UK and Ireland agent for Grafix and has also been appointed distributor for Green Frog anti-marking jackets. The range will be on show at Ipex along with a new range of Cyanx’s own brand of pressroom products.
New for Ipex is the Elite Jet-star fount, an all-purpose heatset fountain solution, which is alcohol free and Fogra certified. In addition, CTP plate cleaning product DigiClean will make its debut, as well as the GP Pressroom Cleaner, which is a non-hazardous water-based cleaner.
Leonhard Kurz is another exhibitor at PrintCity and will be showing its range of foil-stamping technology. It will offer pigmented foils for both hot and cold stamping, coding foils and holograms.
RW Coatings will be launching a single special coating suitable for overprinting with TTR and on Thermal paper. The company will also be showing its Clearcoat range of water-based pre-coating primers and UV varnishes for digital presses.
SF Services supplies consumables to the foil embossing industry. For Ipex, it will be launching its on-line e-shop for hot foil stamping consumables and spare parts.
Total Print Supplies
It’s the first Ipex for Total Print supplies, the consumables arm of Paperlinx. The service is available through PaperCo and Robert Horne and supplies blankets, press chemicals, inks, oil-based varnishes, coatings and sundries.
Trelleborg will present its range of offset blankets, including its Vulcan and Rollin series. The products are aimed at the web, sheetfed, newspaper and packaging markets. The Axcy brand for the flexo sector will also be on show.
The specialist coating blanket manufacturer is launching two products at Ipex. The Aqua Polymer plate is designed for water-based coating applications while the Rosa Polymer plate is suitable for both UV and water-based coating products. Tyref adds that key features for both products are durability, longevity and an optimum coating transfer.
Weko will launch its Procoat system for the application of surface protection chemicals for digital webs. Also on show is the Weko Flow, which was first shown at Drupa. The Flow, in conjunction with the Sigma Rotor Carrier, is designed to apply a precise amount of moisture to a paper web. The system can also apply chemicals for surface improvement. Weko will also be demonstrating its range of anti set-off powder spray units.
