A US-based book printer has launched an API that can open the North American market to publishers, self-publishing platforms, businesses and other print companies looking for a US book-on-demand partner.

Headquartered just outside of Philadelphia, OnPress Book Printing’s API has been developed for organisations that typically require more than 500 books per month or smaller, frequent order volumes.

The on-demand book printer said the system has been configured for partners looking to “automate their book printing and fulfilment workflows at scale”.

The OnPress Book Printing team offers full onboarding support and typical set-up can be as quick as two to four weeks. Businesses with growth potential or start-ups with lower initial volume requirements can also apply to use the service on a subscription model until volume’s grow.

“Our goal with the API is simple: give growing businesses a smarter way to scale,” said Jim Young, VP of sales at OnPress Book Printing.

“We’ve eliminated manual steps so our customers can spend less time managing orders and more time growing their brands.”

OnPress Book Printing’s state-of-the-art facility employs 110 staff who produce all books in-house. Its production battery includes five Xeikon digital presses, two HP Indigos and a wide range of finishing kit from the likes of Hunkeler, Muller Martini, and Horizon.

The company said partners benefit from:

  • The ability to instantly submit orders and files without manual uploads
  • Fast, consistent turnaround from G7-certified presses and finishing lines
  • Trusted fulfilment with global shipping and quality control
  • Dedicated integration and account management from setup through scale
