The Spanish manufacturer (27-B50) has launched the All In One Edge to bring banner finishing to customers requiring an entry-level device. Offering the same integrated welding, eyeleting, and cutting capabilities as its flagship All In One banner finishing machine, the All In One Edge is aimed at medium-sized companies at a cost “around 40% less” than the larger platform.
Rafa Menéndez, head of sales and marketing at PlastGrommet, told Printweek that a 50m roll would take about 13 minutes to finish on the All In One Edge, including welding, eyeleting, and cutting.
He said: “The All In One Edge has a smaller footprint, which is very important for customers, and while the output it has is less than the All In One, we talk with a lot of customers who have volume but where the price point of the All In One was too high.
“So with the feedback we got over the years, we decided to make something compact, and very flexible in size – we can go from 60cm up to 3.2m with this machine. The output is lower, but it’s enough, and you have the advantages of all of the automation.”
Utilising the All In One, PlastGrommet has also launched new sewing automation capabilities for textile finishing with the TexWiz sewing module.
By adding this new sewing module to the All In One, the company will partner with printable textiles manufacturer Pongs and Durst printing technology to showcase how to automate the production of air mesh fabric banners during the event, integrating hem sewing, eyelet setting and cutting.
Additionally, the company has introduced a new media roll lifter for jumbo rolls in the form of the JumboMax 1,000kg. Building on the company’s range of media roll lifters and media storage offerings, this enables printers to easily move large rolls of media up to 1,000kg around the shop floor.
Finally, PlastGrommet will be discussing its new Winder360, designed to automatically rewind banners from the All In One, creating efficient workflow that ends with other products in the company’s portfolio including the Evolve Welder, the Autocross automatic eyelet press, or the Finishing Station.
Through integration with the All In One, the Winder360 is said to reduce the time required to finish the short sides of banners by 50%.
The new products are all commercially available immediately.
PlastGrommet is partnering with digital printable media supplier Soyang Europe and Fujifilm printing technology to showcase banner finishing automation throughout Fespa.
The company is also demonstrating the environmental benefits of textile banners throughout the event. For example, that when paired with PlastGrommet’s proprietary clear plastic eyelets, polyester banner materials can be recycled with the eyelets still intact, removing the need for separation during the recycling process.
Fespa Global Print Expo runs at Messe Berlin until Friday (9 May).
