NSK ramps up Zero cutter productivity

NSK has brought its Zero multi-head modular cutting system back to Fespa with improved productivity and new tooling.

Aimed primarily at the packaging and display markets, the machine fills a gap in between the single-head cutting tables and industrial-level die-cutters.

It is available in four standard bed sizes, from 0.8x1m up to 2.4mx1.6m, as well as custom sizes.

A new camera on the placing unit sees the Zero’s tools to realign when a sheet’s registration marks are scanned. A double-creasing tool and a tool for making zipper-style opening tabs have been added to the offering, which starts around €200,000 for a basic configuration.

While the Japanese manufacturer is striving for a processing speed of 300sph, the top speed is currently around 200sph.

The firm is exhibiting on stand B4-J20 at Fespa, which is being held at Messe Munich until Friday 17 May.
