Mutoh is presenting a raft of its latest models at Fespa Global Print Expo in Berlin, including the XpertJet 1682SR Pro, a dye-sub printer for “vibrant, reliable transfer sublimation output”, and the HydrAton 1642, a 1.62m roll-to-roll printer featuring a new water-based UV ink technology.

Set to be available around the end of summer, the XpertJet 1682SR Pro is optimised for textile and soft signage applications. Built on a robust platform with twin AccuFine HD 3200 nozzle printheads, the machine supports speeds up to 86sqm/hr “with exceptional drop accuracy”.

Meanwhile, the fast-drying ink used with the HydrAton 1642 is said to combine the benefits of UV inks with the more environmentally friendly water-based ink. It is also said to offer “greater colour brilliance” and “excellent adhesion” to a wide range of media, including uncoated media. The printer is available now.

Daniela Scheidung, channel marketing manager at Mutoh Deutschland, said: “This technology has a lot of advantages and it’s really an all-round printer.

“Fespa has been successful, it’s always like a family event, and always good.”

Also on show on the Mutoh booth (27-B65) is the XpertJet C641SR Pro, a compact 0.63m printer and cutter in one, and the XpertJet 1682UR a 1.62m six-colour UV-LED printer that can print up to 27.3sqm/hr.
