Konita shows one plate for all CTPs

A new chemistry-free plate that works in both thermal and conventional UV platesetters is being shown at Drupa.

Chinese manufacturer Konita (5-C39) used the show as the launchpad for its NP non-process plate.

“They are showing half of a plate imaged on a thermal CTP and the other half on a UV platesetter. Then we take a cup of water to wash off the image,” said Peter Flynn, managing director at Konita’s OEM partner International Graphic Supplies.

Konita commissioned a new plate line to manufacture NP last month.

It can be ‘processed’ on-press using fount solution or in a water wash-out unit.
