Aquafuze has involved nearly a decade in R&D to perfect. It uses Fujifilm’s own pigment technology, a water-based photo initiator and LED curing. It is also “hazard warning label free”.
It is running on the newlylaunched 1.6m-wide Acuity Triton. Global business development director Shaun Holdom described Aquafuze as a “monumental” development.
“People can produce a fully dried and cured product that’s immediately available for use, that can be laminated or applied with no cooling or degassing time,” he explained.
“You can also use this for vehicle wrapping, and there’s no shrinking because it doesn’t use a lot of heat.”
He said the range of potential applications, including polypropylene, polyesters, and fabrics, made the Triton-Aquafuze combination appealing to SME printers looking for a versatile system.
Fujifilm (25-B60 & A61) is also showing its second generation hybrid, the 3.3m-wide Acuity Ultra Hybrid Pro. This is double the speed of its predecessor at 600sqm/hr, with a focus on multi-functionality, speedy changeovers between roll-to-roll and flatbed work, and a choice
of semi- or fully-automatic loading and unloading.
Also being showcased at Fespa is the 1,200bph HS3000 single-pass inkjet featuring flexible configuration options.
