According to Durst, the P5 X is its first “true flatbed” and is available for purchase now.
Available as either dedicated flatbed or hybrid roll-to-roll, it’s configurable with 10 colour channels, and the P5 X offers 1,200dpi and speeds up to 120sqm/hr from its Ricoh Gen 5 printheads. It can handle boards up to 3.25x2.15m, and 70mm thick or one 3.2m roll or two 1.6m rolls. Durst has already taken around 30 orders for the machine, which began shipping in late April.
Also on display is Durst’s new flagship soft signage printer, the P5 500 TEX iSub. The 422sqm/hr, 3.5m wide machine prints either direct to fabric or transfer paper. Seven machines have been pre-sold, but sales will formally start in Q4.
“We’ve had a lot of interest even before the exhibition. We’re definitely looking forward to some exciting days,” said global sales manager Johann Strozzega.
New under the Durst label is the recently rebranded LF 430 GF, an updated model from Aleph’s LaForte range of water-based pigment ink fabric printers. In early April, Aleph was rebranded to Durst Como, finalising the integration of the subsidiary following Aleph’s acquisition in September 2023, with the LF 430 GF the first printer to reflect the new branding. Durst has confirmed that the rest of Aleph's portfolio will be rebranded and released before the new Durst Como factory's public opening later this year.
Among the other machines on show is the new ‘Double 4’ version of the firm’s popular P5 350 HS printer, fitted with a double CMYK configuration.
“Fespa 2025 is not just about new products for us, it’s about showcasing our technological ambition,” said CEO Christoph Gamper.
“We are rethinking professional print production – with the most reliable printing systems on the market, a connected software architecture, a clear focus on automation, true efficiency, and resource-saving processes. ‘Made in Durst’ stands for integrated solutions with responsibility: for our customers, their competitiveness, and our environment.”
Durst will also focus on its growing software portfolio, and will show off its portfolio of workflow solutions and AI-powered applications, as well as its integration of Amazon’s Transparency Program into Durst Workflow to combat product piracy.
