CMC Machinery launches first reel-fed corrugated carton maker

CMC Machinery has launched Cartonwrap, the first carton packaging system to create boxes from a continuous reel, the company claims.

The global wrapping and inserting manufacturer first showed the system at Post Expo in Brussels on 18 to 20 September after finalising the patent on the equipment earlier that month.

The system feeds reels of continuous corrugated carboard through a number of stations, including creasing and trimming, die cutting and hot melt glue application areas. Products and documents are then input into the boxes automatically before being sealed and finished at a labelling station for dispatch.

The Cartonwrap is managed automatically from a database to ensure high flexibility of processing with output up to 15 boxes a minute.

Optional extras are available in the form of print systems to add logos and trademarks to the boxes.

Cartonwrap addresses the needs of e-commerce and fulfilment businesses and shipping companies, CMC Machinery claims.

CMC Machinery claims it has responded to consumer demands of shippers for reduced waste, ensuring eco-friendly and cost effective packaging.

Cartonwrap is commercially available now from CMC Machinery’s reseller network across 35 countries.
