Cardiff-based commercial printer McLay has taken a six-colour with coater. This means Heidelberg now has four XL 105s up and running in the UK.
Dollin installed the first last year, after which Hampton invested 5m in two for its Bristol facility.
McLay managing director Ken Vaughan said the company had been considering long perfectors, but plumped instead for the 18,000-sheets-per-hour XL 105 because of its "output and control of quality".
The XL 105 has been awarded Silver Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany. Heidelberg director of engineering and manufacturing Jrgen Rautert was presented with the "award of awards".
The XL 105 was launched at Drupa in 2004.
