The Essex-based company had to remove its 32pp Goss G16, excavate more than 200 tonnes of earth, then pump 230 tonnes of concrete into the KBA folder base. Another 230 tonnes will fill the base for the press, which should be operational by January.
The base has two pools because the folder and press units have separate bases. The company is also poised to go live with a webcam link to the installation. Managing director Simon Fox said that the first phase of the installation had been completed well within schedule.
